An explosion has rocked a US military outpost in Japan in the early hours of Monday morning, with no reports of injuries.
A series of blasts were reported at the Sagami General Depot, an arsenal located about 40km southwest of Tokyo where “dangerous materials” are stored, at approximately 2am (AEST).

The fire has subsided, according to Japanese fire crews, and there was no possibility of it spreading as there were no adjoining buildings.
In Washington, US Navy Commander Bill Urban told local media there were no injuries reported.
The depot has no live-in staff, with about 200 working there during the day.
