Fifth Ricky Muir staffer departs

An exodus of staff from the office of Motoring Enthusiast Senator Ricky Muir has continued, with a fifth staff member departing in the space of three months.

Melbourne-based electoral staffer Fiona Marshall quit on Friday, just one week after Mr Muir’s chief-of-staff Sarah Mennie resigned, according to a Fairfax report.

Rick Muir has a total of six staff members.

Ms Marshall and Ms Mennie’s resignations follow a string of exits from Mr Muir’s office, with political strategist Glenn Druery being axed in August and staffer Susan Bloodworth quitting in protest over Mr Druery’s sacking.

Political adviser Peter Breen was also sacked in August after allegations he travelled to the Byron Bay Writers’ Festival while on sick leave.

In a statement, Mr Muir said it was “common in all workplaces for people to come and go for a variety of different reasons.”

“Out of respect for all my staff members… the reason for ceasing employment will remain private,” Mr Muir said.
