Rocker and activist Sir Bob Geldof has been lampooned on Twitter and told to ‘stay out’ of Scotland’s affairs after fronting an anti-independence rally in London.
The Boomtown Rats frontman fronted a rally in Trafalgar Square overnight to plead with Scotland not to “break up this family”.

“The United Kingdom is one of the greatest ideas invented in the modern age,” Geldof told the crowd of several thousand.
“There is such a thing as a great big glorious no.”
Twitter users said Irish-born Geldof had no place to tell Scots to stay within the United Kingdom, calling his speech ’embarrassing’.
Other also said that the matter wasn’t for an Irishman, calling for him to “stay out of it”.

Dear Bob Geldof. You’re Irish. The #scottishindependence referendum is none of your business. Stay out of it.

I’m quite glad “Sir” Bob Geldof has voluntarily cast off all semblance of being Irish. He really should just leave Scotland to decide. — Niall Ó Donnghaile (@NiallSF) September 15, 2014
Scottish friends. I apologize for Bob Geldof. Please ignore him. — Derek Troy (@flammecast) September 15, 2014
