Daredevils with jetpacks race a passenger plane

Swiss daredevils Yves Rossy and Vince Reffet have soared above Dubai alongside the world’s largest passenger plane … strapped to jetpacks.

The two pilots were dropped from a helicopter to perform the stunt over the iconic Palm Jumeirah resort in early October.

It would seem the footage was a marketing ploy funded by Emirates airline, which arranged the A380 to fly with Rossy and Reffet.

The jetpack company that employed the pilots said the stunt took very careful planning.

“While the formation flight looked effortless on film, painstaking planning and meticulous collaboration with an intense focus on safety drove all efforts,” Jetman Dubai said in an online statement.

The stunt company dismissed claims the footage was a hoax, providing behind-the-scenes footage as proof the dangerous caper really happened.
