ABC journalist Leigh Sales has been nominated for a Gold Logie for the first time.
But the going may be tough for the veteran current affairs host – the winner is determined by public vote, and she is up against popular Lego Masters host Hamish Blake.
Blake has won the coveted Gold Logie multiple times, including in 2022.
Sales hosted the ABC’s flagship current affairs program 7.30 for 12 years before stepping down from the role in 2022.
Other nominees are hosts Julia Morris, Sonia Kruger, Osher Gunsberg, comedian Shaun Micallef and actor Mark Coles Smith.
The 63rd Logies awards night will be hosted in Sydney on July 30, returning to the city for the first time in 37 years.
Voting for the popular awards categories has opened and for the first time Gold Logie voting will remain open throughout the awards night.
