Top videos: Golden Globe hits and misses, terrifying TV broadcast

This week, a joke at Taylor Swift’s expense fell flat at the Golden Globe awards, Jennifer Lawrence threatened to leave and the Succession cast took over the press conference.

A TV studio was stormed by an armed group, with gunshots heard in the broadcast and amid a fuel shortage in India, a man making food deliveries opted for an unusual mode of transport.

On Tuesday, a live TV broadcast in Ecuador was interrupted by armed people wearing balaclavas.

Gun shots were heard and President Daniel Noboa has issued a decree declaring 22 gangs as terrorist organisations.

Taylor Swift takes a sip

At the Golden Globes, host Jo Koy made a poorly received joke about Taylor Swift, who was nominated for her film about the Eras Tour.

Swift was seen sipping her drink looking unimpressed after the joke, which Koy claims was aimed at the NFL, failed to land.

Jennifer Lawrence threatens to leave

A more light-hearted moment from the Golden Globes came when Jennifer Lawrence’s name was called out along with the other nominees for best actress in a motion picture comedy or musical.

“If I don’t win, I’m leaving,” she mouths at the camera.

She cheered as her friend Emma Stone won the award.

Family drama at the Golden Globes

After Matthew Macfadyen’s Golden Globe win a press conference was interrupted by his Succession co-stars, Kieran Culkin and Nicholas Braun.

Culkin asked his on-screen brother-in-law who was the tallest of the cast and Braun, who towers over both, barged in, unimpressed with the answer.

Uber horse

A man out delivering food in India was seen using a very unusual mode of transport.

In the aftermath of fuel shortages and long waits to get fuel, the man decided to deliver food on horseback.

The new face of Calvin Klein

Jeremy Allen White’s recent Calvin Klein campaign has sent people spiralling, though he said it was “bizarre” filming it and having it come out.

He even got a few questions about it on the carpet for the Golden Globes, where he and his show The Bear picked up a few awards.

Playful cat

A very playful cat has found the best thing to play with during winter – snow.

In a video shared to TikTok, the cat is seen jumping into the air, apparently trying to catch the snow as it falls.

Wombat scratch

A wombat found the perfect object to scratch the hard-to-get place on its back.

Hikers came across the wombat and the animals went straight up to the hiker’s pole and used it to ease the itch.

Insanely fast race

This ski race is not for the faint of heart.

Red Bull shared the equally terrifying and exhilarating run of Austrian alpine ski racer Marcel Hirscher, in which he reached 100km/h in just 8.5 seconds.

The course stretches over 3.3 kilometres and is ice the whole way. On the run, Hirscher sets the record speed of 153km/h.

Polar bear jumps

It turns out polar bears also succumb to peer pressure.

At the Toledo Zoo, children were chanting for the polar bear to jump into the water and it did, making a splash and earning some cheers.
