Floods ravage Victoria

Thousands of Victorians were told to seek higher ground this week as rising rivers in the east of the state burst their banks, just days after the region was hit by bushfires.

As of Friday afternoon, up to 60 homes in Victoria’s east were still threatened by floodwaters.

Apparently Swift’s attendance led to an increase in female viewers, making it was the most-watched television program airing on a Sunday since the Super Bowl.

Collingwood’s Bobby Hill took an incredible mark during the 2023 grand final against the Brisbane Lions, his former club, and followed it up with a goal.

His performance at the MCG earned him the Norm Smith Medal and helped Collingwood secure the flag.

After far-right Republicans kicked off a rebellion, the US House of Representatives voted to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a historic first for the US.

Leader of the coup, Matt Gaetz, claimed McCarthy was not doing enough to cut federal spending while failing to stand up to President Joe Biden.

At a rally this week, 2024 presidential hopeful Donald Trump said he would rather be electrocuted than mauled by a shark in a bizarre rant, inspired by an apparent conversation he had with a boat manufacturer.

Fat Bear Week kicks off

Fat Bear Week went ahead, after some feared it wouldn’t when it looked as though the US would have another government shutdown.
