This week, the final parliamentary vote on holding a referendum to enshrine an Indigenous Voice in the Constitution was held.

The Bill passed in the Senate, meaning the referendum will go ahead, with the public gallery erupting with applause when it passed.

After Barnaby Joyce had a passionate and animated spiel in the House of Representatives, he was asked to take a deep breathe and remind himself as to where he was.

Labor’s Josh Burns thanked Mr Joyce for a “minute of extraordinary sounds and squeaks and buzzing”.

‘Partygate’ video

This week, a video of UK politicians dancing and drinking in the middle of a COVID lockdown was released, infuriating people who lost loved ones.

The ‘partygate’ scandal was the reason then-MP Boris Johnson stepped down as prime minister. Those in attendance at this party included two MPs who made it on Mr Johnson’s resignation honours list, the Mirror reported.

Fire in Paris

The streets of Paris were covered in smoke following an explosion that led to a huge fire, and at least 37 people being injured.

Eerie footage taken when the fire was active was shared to social media, the air thick with smoke, while one person is seen running away from the blaze.

Stunning try seals the deal

Around the 50th minute of State of Origin II, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow finished off an amazing effort that resulted in an impressive try.

Murray Taulagi kicked the ball up the field only for Tabuai-Fidow to tap it out of reach from the Blues and slam it down to score. The Maroons won 32-6.

On her Renaissance tour in Germany, Beyonce delighted a fan by helping them break some exciting news.

After seeing a sign in the crowd, Beyonce happily announced the sex of a fan’s babies. “Girls,” the star happily proclaimed, before congratulating the expectant parents.

Swans that frequent the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens in Wells get food by simply ringing a bell.

Once a swan tugs on the string to ring the bell, someone opens the window to feed them. This sweet tradition dates back to the 1800s.
