The ultimate Anzac biscuit recipe

Do you like your Anzac biscuits chewy or crunchy? Cooked baking expert and author of Gran’s Kitchen, Natalie Oldfield gets the balance just right with the ultimate Anzac biscuits recipe, hitting that sweet-spot right in the middle ­– which is just the way we like it.

Ingredients

1 cupflour
1 cupsugar
1 cuprolled oats
pinchsalt
1 cupcoconut
1 cupwalnuts, chopped
115gbutter
1 tablespoongolden syrup
1 teaspoonbaking soda
1 tablespoonboiling water

Method

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.

Melt butter and golden syrup, then add baking soda dissolved in water. Mix wet into dry ingredients.

Spoon onto greased oven tray and bake at 160° C for 15 minutes.
