Job loyalty at all-time low

Half of Australian employees aim to stay in their current roles for five years or less, signalling an end to the days when Australian workers regularly spent 40 years in the same job.

According to a Newspoll survey in The Australian, 48 per cent of workers said they believed they would stay in their current job for less than five years.

Almost a quarter of those people said they would only stay in their role for less than 12 months, while another 11 per cent said they would change positions within two years.

Workers aged between 18 and 34 were the most likely to change jobs, while employees between 35 to 49 were the most settled in their jobs.
