An apparent online outage has some Westpac customers “experiencing issues” accessing their accounts, the bank says.

“We’re aware that customers are currently experiencing issues accessing account information in online and mobile banking,” Westpac said in a statement on social media platform X on Monday night.

“Our teams are working to fix the issue.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and will continue to share updates here.”

In an update on X at 10.40pm AEDT, the bank said online and mobile banking remained unavailable.

“Our teams are continuing work on restoring services,” Westpac said.

Some customers posting on X said they could not see their accounts after logging in to the bank’s mobile app.

According to outage website DownDetector, more than 10,000 people reported problems accessing their accounts on Monday.
