House prices rebound after sluggish February

Housing prices have climbed again after a pause in February.
Home prices in the mainland state capital cities are up by 2.1 per cent so far in March, RP Data research director Tim Lawless said .
That indicates the final numbers for the month would show very strong growth, Mr Lawless said.
A lull in price rises in February was an aberration, he said, and the strong momentum seen in late 2013 has resumed, with auction clearance rates high and the flow of housing finance strengthening.
Annual growth in prices in the mainland capitals is already rapid, with RP Data-Rismark figures showing increases averaging 9.5 per cent over the year to February.
The RP Data-Rismark Daily Home Value Index for March will be published on Tuesday.
