No rise for RBA boss’ million-dollar pay

Reserve Bank of Australia governor Glenn Stevens didn’t get a pay rise in the last financial year – he was stuck on the same million-dollar salary.

Mr Stevens’ remuneration totalled $1.025 million in the 2012/13 financial year, according to the RBA’s annual report released on Thursday.

His reportable salary was $845,805 while his contributed superannuation was $179,407.

He is the only RBA executive that sits within the $1.02 to $1.05 million remuneration band.

The report says there was no increase to governor’s or Deputy Governor Philip Lowe’s gross salary in 2012/13.

Dr Lowe was paid $732,342 in the last financial year, and was the only RBA executive in the $720,000 to $749,000 remuneration band.

His reportable salary was $605,866 while his contributed superannuation was $126,476.
