Boutique chocolate maker Koko Black has issued a recall for two of its Christmas products due to fears they contain an allergen.

The products have been sold at Koko Black’s 15 outlets across Australia, as well as at IGA in Victoria and Western Australia.

They have also been sold online and at other independent retailers across Australia.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand said the affected confectionery were the 140-gram A Jar of Stars (54 per cent dark) and the 200-gram A Bon Bon of Stars (54 per cent dark).

All best-before dates up to and including July 31, 2024, are affected.

The recall is due to fears both products may contain milk, which can be an issue for those who have dairy allergies.

“Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” FSANZ said on Tuesday.

“Consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance should not consume this product.”

They are instead advised to return the sweets to where they were purchased for a full refund.
