The morning after her reality TV rejection by Nick Cummins on The Bachelor, Cassie Wood slammed the editing of her scenes on the Ten show was unfair.

“I had no idea that I was going to be portrayed like that,” Cassie, 24, told The New Daily.

“The show made it look very one-sided, people were saying I was a stage five clinger, things like that, but that’s not how it was.

“It just wasn’t true. Watching it back the first three weeks were very hard for me. It was tough, seeing the editing and how I was portrayed.”

Just as hard? Reliving her own distress on The Bachelor on Thursday night when Cummins failed to give her a rose.

“It was pretty tough,” said the Sydney accounting student, who watched her tearful exit episode with fellow contestant Sophie Tieman.

Earlier this year when her final rose ceremony was filmed and the ‘Honey Badger’ kicked her off, “I was really shattered,” Cassie said.

She had just taken the former Wallaby home to visit her family, “and we had so much fun, we had the best time. Then I rocked back up to the house and … then he was walking me out.”

Cassie, who has worked as an extra on Seven’s Home and Away for six years, said being rejected by Nick after believing she would be the final woman standing “was really out of the blue”.

“I was pretty confused. I felt like he didn’t explain why he did it. I’ve had a few months to try and get over it and last night I had to watch myself getting my heart broken all over again.”

Was her heart really broken?

“100 per cent,” she said.

“Towards the end I was definitely falling for him. I’ve never really felt the way I felt about Nick.”

Cassie’s departure, which sees the show down to with Tieman, Brooke Blurton and Brittany Hockley, drew mainstream and social media backlash against a “heartless” Cummins for “stringing along” his most ardent bachelorette.

Twitter users were mostly on her side after the brutal axing. “She deserves so much more,” said one user. “Cass can do way better. Chin up girl,” said another.

Apart from the dumping itself, Cummins drew flak for uploaded a post spruiking underwear to his 450,000 Instagram followers even as Cassie was being driven from the mansion in tears.

After fans criticised Cummins – who was called a “monster” by Cosmopolitan – for selling briefs at the insensitive moment, comments under the video were switched off.

According to the Townsville Bulletin, one user wrote, “Clearly you have zero care factor and [are] out to make some cash off the back of the show.”

Said another, “You’re not coming across very genuine. Boosting your profile but cheapening it at the same time.”

Despite everything, Cassie told The New Daily: “I can’t really question his decision. If he can’t see himself with me, I’d just rather move on and stay mates with him”.

“We live in the same area and go to the same gym. I’m bound to run into him so I’d rather not hold a grudge.”

Cassie cleared up rumours about the extent of her relationship with Nick before they met again on the show.

“We met in a bar in Manly, didn’t chat but locked eyes. I didn’t know who he was,” she said.

“We bumped into each other at a couple of events then spoke at the beach when my dog ran up to him. It was around the time of my birthday so he bought me a drink and it kind of all started from there.”

They “went on a few dates”, she said, “but it was very inconsistent with him travelling.”

She said it’s a relief to now be able to “open up about it and tell my friends the truth, that I’m not with Nick and I wasn’t okay”.
