As the United States edges closer to deciding who will be its next president, HBO has released a series of campaign videos promoting Game of Thrones candidates vying to win the Iron Throne.
And it’s HBO’s choice of leading candidates and their running mates who will intrigue GoT fans as much as the viewer-driven poll.
Leading the vote so far is Petyr Baelish (34 per cent), whose running mate is none other than the newly-single Sansa Stark.
Season six ended with Sansa ending her marriage to Ramsay Bolton in gruesome fashion before rejecting a marriage proposal from Baelish, unaffectionately known as ‘Little Finger’.
The decision to pair the two characters in the election for the future of Westeros will have fans guessing if maybe a future plot twist has been given away.
Little Finger and Lady Stark are just ahead of Jon Snow and the pre-pubescent Lyanna Mormont (33 per cent) in the election race.
Should any of the fantasy show’s fans feel bored with the US election, they can now pretend they’re voting in Westeros.
GoT devotees can go to a website and vote for their favourite candidate and their running mate after they’ve watched the campaign videos.

“For those who feel left out. For those who don’t see the right banner on the ballot. For those who don’t like how the game is played,” are the words voters are greeted with when they log onto the site.
The current votes see Little Finger leading from Snow, followed by Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister (32 per cent), and Cersei Lannister and the sinister Qyburn running a predictable last on a pitiful 1 per cent of the total vote.
More than 1.4 million votes had been cast as of Monday evening (AEST).
The winner will become the leader of the “GoT Party”, with voting closing at the end of August.
