She’s the Queen of Meereen and the Mother of Dragons who’s done her fair share of on-screen nudity but actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, says she doesn’t like the show’s sex scenes.

“I’m British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway — I can’t stand it,” Clarke told the Daily Mail.

Clarke believes “sex scenes should be more subtle” on TV.

“I don’t want to have sex thrown in my face and I’ve always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself,” Clarke said.

“Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they’re usually just to attract an audience.”

Clarke’s former co-star Oona Chaplin has previously alluded to the actress’s refusal to do any more nude scenes.

In an interview with The Telegraph two years ago, Chaplin revealed: “One of the girls in the show who got her kit off the most in the first couple of seasons now doesn’t at all because she said, ‘I want to be known for my acting not for my breasts.’”

Many speculated the actress in question to be Clarke, who endured some confronting rape scenes in the first season of the show.
