The proof is in the hair.

Game of Thrones fans are up in arms after actor Kit Haringotn, aka Jon Snow, made an appearance at Wimbledon sporting Snow’s signature long locks.

It’s well known Harington had a deal with the show’s network HBO specifying he could not cut his hair while playing the beloved hero.

After Jon’s surprise death on the season five finale, traumatised fans have been looking for any evidence he might make a miraculous return.

Photos of Harington enjoying a day out at the tennis last week are now circulating on social media as definitive proof he’s coming back to the show.

“This is a recent picture of Kit Harington, notice his hair. He hasn’t cut it. JON SNOW LIVES,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Maybe Kit Harington just likes his hair long,” another retorted.

The fresh photo furore comes after actress Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen) told MTV she felt there was a “50/50 chance” of Jon being revived.

“If I had to bet, I would say it’s a 50/50 chance. There are some helpful people there, who could bring Jon back to life,” Clarke said.

Carice van Houten, who plays Melisandre on the show, also weighed in here, implying her character may play a part in rescuing the character, who was murdered by his Night’s Watch colleagues in a surprise attack.

Only time will tell if Harington’s appearance is the result of contractual obligations or personal preference, but we’re hoping for the former.

We’re not ready to say goodbye just yet.
