Rock star Sting has filmed a secret segment for Aussie sketch comedy series Open Slather.

The 16-time Grammy-winning musician follows Martina Navratilova and Paul Hogan who have made guest appearances in the show.

Screening tonight on the Comedy Channel, the sketch sees Sting trapped in his hotel room by a wannabe rock star. The star-struck hotel employee, played by Open Slather regular Dave Eastgate,  belts out a tragic soft rock tune in an attempt to impress him.

Eastgate confesses he was indeed star struck to work opposite the music legend.

“When I found out I’d be doing the sketch I just lost my s…,” Eastgate says with a laugh.

“Sting has a fantastic sense of humour. He was really up for doing the sketch.”
