Aussie drama Wonderland has failed to make the top 20 shows on its return on Wednesday night.

The Network Ten series, about four couples living in a beachside unit block, was beaten in its 8.30pm timeslot by The Block Glasshouse, Criminal Minds and two new ABC shows.

Starring Brooke Satchwell, Michael Dorman and Jessica Tovey, Wonderland was 22nd overall on OzTAM’s overnight ratings with 519,000 viewers.

It was a long way behind the Nine Network’s The Block Glasshouse, which was fourth with 1.024 million viewers, and the Seven Network’s 10th-placed Criminal Minds (559,000).

The ABC launched two new half hour shows against Wonderland including political satire Utopia, starring Rob Sitch, which was 12th with 778,000 viewers.

The second new show was chat fest Reality Check, hosted by comedian Tom Ballard, which attracted an audience of 559,000 to be 21st.

Ten’s dating reality show The Bachelor fared slightly better and was the network’s second highest rating show, even if it was 14th with 683,000 viewers.

Nine News (1.171 million) won the night ahead of Seven News (1.084 million) and Nine News 6.30pm (1.069 million).
