John Oliver mocks ‘ridiculous’ Games

If you have ever questioned why the Commonwealth Games still exist, comedian John Oliver has nailed your answer.

The British host of the wildly popular US satirical news program Last Week Tonight with John Oliver has taken the mickey out of the Games in a short skit that targets the countries participating, the Queen and, wait for it, netball.

“Here’s a question. What the f*** are the Commonwealth Games?” the voiceover actor asks.

“Well, imagine the Olympics without the United States, China and Russia.

“Then, imagine a track meet dominated by stranger from Wales … and you have the Commonwealth Games.”
