Help! Have we forgotten The Beatles?

It was a hard day’s night for a documentary about the 50th anniversary of The Beatles tour Down Under.

The nostalgic ABC show When The Beatles Drove Us Wild was beaten in the ratings by a dozen desperate and dateless women on a reality series.

When The Beatles Drove Us Wild, the story of June, 1964 when Beatlemania changed the social fabric of Australian society, attracted 608,000 viewers to finish 20th on OzTAM’s overnight ratings.

It was two spots behind the Nine Network’s reality series When Love Comes To Town which had 625,000 viewers in the same timeslot.

It was also beaten by the Seven Network’s What Really Happens in Bali (888,000) and Network Ten’s NCIS (839,000).

However, When The Beatles Drove Us Wild was the third-highest rating show for the ABC on Tuesday and the highest rating non-news or public affairs program.
