There’s just over a week left until the Grand Prix kicks off at Melbourne’s Albert Park and the world’s best drivers are about to arrive Down Under.

While the big names hit the track, their gorgeous other halves will hit the stands to lap up the atmosphere and cheer them on.

But don’t be fooled, the ladies of the Grand Prix aren’t just arm candy – they’re success stories in their own right.

From ice cream stores to fashion labels and television careers, the Formula One ‘WAGs’ as they’re nicknamed have plenty to offer in their own right.

Here are the women behind the wheel (metaphorically speaking, of course):

Jemma Boskovich, 26

Partner: Daniel Ricciardo, 26

Together since: They’re high school sweethearts!

Hometown: Perth, Western Australia

Occupation: Jewellery and clothing designer

This extremely private couple live in Monaco but are rarely spotted in public together.

While Ricciardo has admitted he receives plenty of female attention thanks to his sporting prowess, he’s said in the past he only has eyes for Boskovich.

“There are some hot girls around — don’t worry about that, we do travel the world and there are some gorgeous females,” he told Channel Seven’s Sunday Night program.

“I have only got eyes on one, sorry ladies, I know I have just broken a lot of hearts.”

Ricciardo has credited Boskovich, who he has known since well before his meteoric rise to fame, with keeping him grounded.

“But it is nice to have someone there, having company,” Ricciardo told the Herald Sun last year.

“I’ve known her for a fair few years now so it’s nice having someone from home who is there.

“I think that it is important.’’

Hanna Prater, 27

Partner: Sebastian Vettel, 28

Together since: They met in primary school.

Hometown: Heppenheim, Germany

Occupation: Prater studied industrial design at university.

Despite never having officially tied the knot, Prater and Vettel are one of the longest-standing couples on the Formula One circuit.

Extremely private, they keep themselves and their two young daughters, Emilie and Matilda, out of the spotlight at all costs.

The family live a low-key life at their home in Switzerland.

Vivian Sibold, 30

Partner: Nico Rosberg, 30

Together since: After 11 years together, the pair were married in July 2014.

Hometown: Hamburg, Germany

Occupation: Sibold owns an ice cream shop in Ibiza called Vivi’s Creamery.

Spending their time between their homes in Ibiza and Monaco, Sibold and Rosberg are one of Formula One’s glamour couples, regularly spotted together at red carpet events.

In August 2015, the pair welcomed their first child, daughter Alaϊa.

In an interview with The Telegraph UK, Rosberg described his perfect day as one spent with his wife.

“My wife and I would be alone in our place in Monaco,” he said.

“She would make me some healthy pancakes before we go off on our bikes for an hour and have lunch on the beach. We’d take an afternoon nap and, as the sun sets, we’d take the car through the mountains. And then in the evening I’d mess around looking at old cars in magazines and have dinner cooked by my wife at home.”

Lara Alvarez, 29

Partner: Fernando Alonso, 34

Together since: 2014

Hometown: Asturias, Spain

Occupation: Television presenter

With a degree in journalism and several high-profile hosting gigs on Spanish television (she’s appeared on Survivor and Big Brother), Alvarez can hold her own alongside double World Champion Alonso.

Alonso is clearly smitten by his talented partner, sharing a snap of her on Instagram with a caption describing her as “the light of my life”.

Brittny Ward, 25

Partner: Jenson Button, 36

Together since: Earlier this month.

Hometown: California, USA

Occupation: Model with NEXT model management.

Button split from his ex-wife of one year, Jessica Michibata, in late 2015. Since then, he’s been spotted hanging out in Los Angeles with Ward, who is a former Playboy playmate.

Meanwhile, Michibata has been spotted partying with singer John Mayer.
