Liam Gallagher has said that his “bags are packed” for an Oasis reunion, but he refuses to go “cap in hand” to brother Noel to get the band back together.

The phenomenally successful and popular group which penned runaway hits such as Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger parted acrimoniously in 2009.

The Gallaghers have been sniping at each other ever since then. While Noel went on to form High Flying Birds, Liam continued to play with the other members of Oasis under the name Beady Eye which finally split in 2014.

While there have been many calls by fans for the band to reunite, the public feuding between the brothers has made it seem unlikely.

At the premiere of a new Oasis documentary Supersonic in London on Monday night, Liam told Sky News he was ready to reunite.

“If it happens tomorrow, I’m ready, my bags are packed.”

“If it happens in a year, I’m still ready, if it happens in 10 years, I’m still ready.

“But there’ll be no cap in the hand and no banjo, you know what I mean? A little f***ing skinny, stringy dog outside his house going ‘Please sir, I need a f***ing band, mate’.”

“If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it f***ing doesn’t, we move on.”

But Noel has been steadfast in ruling out a reunion, and once joked he might be tempted to play a one-off gig for £20 million ($A33.5 million).
