A music fan has launched an online fundraising campaign to prevent American band Nickelback from touring the United Kingdom.
Craig Mandell is aiming to raise $1000 for his cause, citing his inspiration for creating the campaign as Nickelback’s “unlistenable music”.

On a page titled ‘Don’t Let Nickel Back’, Mr Mandell implores fellow music lovers to “ensure than the band do not schedule any gigs here, do not attempt to come here nor even phone here”.
“Just imagine, thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of music lovers all not witnessing an exclusive concert by Nickelback in London. It will be glorious. Legendary,” Mr Mandell wrote.
Those who donate to the campaign have been promised an email sent in their name to the Nickelback’s management, “kindly requesting” that they do not play in London.
The band, whose hit songs include Photograph and How You Remind Me, do not currently have any tour dates scheduled for the UK.
Mr Mandell has assured donors that their money will go towards a good cause.
“This campaign is not about personal profit. All proceeds will go to charity. Or perhaps therapy for those who’ve been affected by the band,” he said.
So far, the campaign has 14 backers and has raised $66.
