Would you pay $1000 to see The Eagles?

US rock band The Eagles have announced an Australian tour and are asking fans to fork out $1000 for front row seats.

The band behind 1970s hits Hotel California, Desperado and Life in the Fast Line will play seven shows across Australia in February and March in 2015, with the top price for seats coming in at a hefty $997.75 and the lowest $131.

To put it in perspective, The Rolling Stones most expensive ticket for their Australian tour later this year was $580, which got you the best seats in the house in Perth.

Eagles songwriters Don Henley and Glenn Frey also have a no phone filming policy and fans will not be able to stand up and swoon to their west coast easy listening rock anthems.

“It’s always been puzzling to us that there’s always three or four people in an audience of several thousand who think they have to stand up for the entire show,” Henley said to News Ltd.

“They seem to be completely oblivious to the fact there’s thousands of people behind them who are not standing up because it’s a ballad for Christ’s sake! We get to a point in our show when it’s quite obvious it’s time to stand up and we give the audience a signal. But people who start standing up in the beginning when we’re doing ballads are a great annoyance to us and to the people behind them. We have our security people gently tell them to sit down. You pay for your seat, sit in it.”

And boy do you pay!
