Nicole Kidman has continued her march towards the Oscars, but Joel Edgerton and the cast of Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge have hit speed bumps after they were snubbed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination ceremony.

Kidman, as expected, received a supporting actress nomination for Lion on Wednesday for the January 29 SAG Awards.

But Edgerton missed out in the best actor category for Loving, and Hacksaw Ridge failed to get a nod in the best ensemble category.

The SAG nomination ceremony is considered one of the biggest tests for Oscar-bound actors and films, along with the Golden Globes, where Kidman, Edgerton and Hacksaw Ridge all successfully received nods two days ago.
