Australian actress Cate Blanchett has lost her cool during an interview on Channel 10’s The Project, incredulously asking a journalist: “that’s your f***ing question?”

The normally cool, calm and collected actress was promoting her new movie Cinderella before the line of questioning took a turn for the worst.

“I was gonna bring like a six pack of beer,” Channel 10 journalist Jonathan Hyla said.

“You seem like the type of person, we should just crack open a beer and just have a chat.”

The 45-year-old Oscar-winner glared at Hyla and said “this date isn’t going well”.

“I don’t drink beer”.

She attempted to steer the interview back to Cinderella, telling Hyla “one of us has got to do our job”.

But Blanchett soon became irritated again when the questioning turned to a cat in the movie.

“Okay, serious question, how were you able to get that cat to do what you want it to on a leash?” Hyla asked.

Blanchett was not pleased.

“That’s your question? That’s your f***ing question?,” she asked him, looking around at her media handlers in disbelief.

Blanchett promptly wrapped up the interview but still managed to crack a smile, going to shake Hyla’s hand before trying to high-five him.
