JLaw, Steven Spielberg join forces

Jennifer Lawrence and Steven Spielberg are teaming up to make a new movie about an acclaimed war photographer, after a fierce bidding war for the rights to the book it will be based on.

It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life Of Love & War is the celebrated memoir of photo-journalist Lynsey Addario and her times in Afghanistan, Iraq, The Congo and Libya during times of conflict.

The book was in a furious bidding war to secure the film making rights with names such as Natalie Portman, Margot Robbie and Reese Witherspoon all circling for the coveted lead role.

Directors being bandied around included George Clooney and Black Swan’s Darren Aronofsky.

its-what-i-do-book-cover-395x600Addario herself has the final say on which way to go with the production and it seems that Warner Bros has won out with the combo of Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Lawrence to make the film.

Spielberg was originally attached to direct American Sniper before he pulled out and Clint Eastwood took over.

Rumour has is that Spielberg himself came up with the Iraqi Super Sniper Nemesis in that film, so one has to ponder what “additions” he will bring to Addario’s story to make it more Hollywood history?

The casting of it-girl Jennifer Lawrence is insipred, harking a sort of real life one-woman survivor (of which she does so well).

Spielberg is well known for attaching himself to many projects so it is yet unclear how rock solid this project is, but if it does happen there is a winning team on board.

He is finishing of The BFG at present whilst also circling the post traumatic stress disorder pic Thank Your For Your Service and there’s always Indiana Jones & We Can’t Put Shia LaBeouf In It But Want Chris Pratt that could be next for the veteran film maker.
