What are the funniest films ever made?

Rolling Stone, the august pop culture journal, has released the results of a survey to find the 25 funniest films in history and, frankly, we’re outraged.

Great comedy is serious business. While many of the movies that made the cut are bona fide classics, there are many entries on the list which are questionable, if not downright wrong.

The Blues Brothers, Dr Strangelove and the Coen Brothers cult 1980s hit Raising Arizona are on the list, albeit in the lower reaches.

But are those classic films really less funny than Anchorman, There’s Something About Mary and Borat? And how did Groundhog Day and Annie Hall (long considered the number one comedy of all time by many) miss out altogether?

Cult comedies such as The is Spinal Tap and the Monty Python films were located near the top of the table, but is Blazing Saddles really the funniest film of all time? Sheesh.

They did get one thing right. At least Adam Sandler was ignored.

Rolling Stone’s Top 10 also included Caddyshack, Airplane! Animal House, Caddyshack and The Naked Gun.

Here’s The New Daily’s 10 funniest films of all time. If you agree, disagree, or think there’s something we missed, put it into the comments field below.
