Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex have arrived in Morocco for an official trip scheduled to be their last international journey before Meghan gives birth to their first child.

The duo’s visit comes as the very pregnant Meghan weathers a storm of criticism for her extravagant baby shower in New York, but it was all business for the soon-to-be parents in the North African nation.

Meghan, expected to give birth in April, was taking no chances, with palace sources saying medical arrangements were in place should the stress of the trip complicate her pregnancy.

The couple’s visit was planned long ago, but its timing in knocking the baby shower off the front pages was fortunate.

The New York bash was thrown by long-time Markle pal Serena Williams and cost about $386,000, according to Vanity Fair.

What particularly riled royal critics was Tatler‘s report that the Duchess’ rented five-bedroom penthouse came with a charge of $US75,000 a night.

The royal couple’s schedule begins in the town of Asni in the Atlas Mountains to hear about the education of girls in rural communities.

They will then travel to Rabat to meet diplomats, influential women, young entrepreneurs and disabled athletes.

The visit will also include a trip to the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports to observe horses that provide support to children with special needs.

Harry and Meghan plan to return to Britain on Tuesday.
