British actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have married in Scotland at the bride’s ancestral castle, surrounded by their Game of Thrones co-stars.

The couple and guests arrived for the afternoon service on Sunday (Saturday local time) at Rayne Church, close to the 900-year-old Wardhill Castle, which is owned by Leslie’s family.

Harington, wearing a morning suit, and Leslie, in a flowing ivory gown and veil, smiled at members of the public who had gathered outside the church – many of whom were ardent fans of the fantasy TV show.

Harington and Leslie, who are both 31, met in 2012 on the set of Game of Thrones, where they played a couple as the characters Jon Snow and Ygritte.

Guests included the pair’s co-stars Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke.

Later the newlyweds were showered with rose petal confetti as they left the church and drove off in a Land Rover festooned with “Just Married” signs to a reception on the castle grounds.

The bride’s father, Sebastian Leslie, said he was “absolutely thrilled” about the wedding.
”It’s an absolutely lovely day for us,” he told reporters.

Two years after they met, Leslie left Game Of Thrones, while Harington has become one of the show’s most popular stars and has appeared in every episode.

And speaking to L’Uomo Vogue, Harington said it was “easy” to fall in love with Leslie and his best memory of the show was meeting his future partner while filming in Iceland in 2012.

“The country is beautiful … the Northern Lights are magical … it was there that I fell in love,” he said.

“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”

The Good Fight actor Leslie said she had been too busy to plan the wedding, telling Town And Country magazine: “I haven’t tackled it. There’s just too much to do.”
