Karl Stefanovic has taken the next step with his fiancée, Jasmine Yarbrough, exchanging vows with the shoe designer during an intimate commitment ceremony on Saturday.

The Today host, 43, and Yarbrough, 34, have been engaged since January, but decided to cement their commitment to each other  before a group of 25 close friends and family in Palm Beach, Sydney.

The ceremony took place in the backyard of a mansion reportedly owned by Rob Rankin, a former chairman of Crown Resorts.

Stefanovic wore a navy suit jacket with chinos and a white, open-necked shirt, while Yarbrough wore a long, loose-fitting, floral dress with long sleeves and high neck.

Former Today sports reporter Ben Fordham filled in for Stefanovic on the Monday episode of the Channel Nine morning show and confirmed the news.

“A big congratulations to our very own Karl Stefanovic,” Fordham said.

“You may have noticed Karl is not here today. He is on assignment for 60 Minutes this week, but he is also celebrating the fact that he held a commitment ceremony over the weekend with his fiancée Jasmine.”

“‘They have got a photo or two they are sharing with us this morning – and Sylvia, are you the official photographer?”

Today news presenter Sylvia Jeffreys, who is married to Stefanovic’s younger brother Peter, shared some photos from the ceremony and described it as “very low-key, but beautiful”.

“It was very them – full of love and full of laughter, and a very special occasion for the two families to come together and to share something so intimate,” she said.

“Big love to them both, big love to the whole family.”

While there was initial speculation Stefanovic’s three children – Ava, 12, River, 11 and Jackson, 18 – did not attend, Stefanovic told Nine, “it was lovely to have family and the kids there for the celebration”.

His brother Peter, 36, also shared some details while hosting Sunday Today the day after the event.

‘We had ourselves a little barbecue, a few XXXX Golds, Karl burnt the snags,” he recalled.

“They are awesome people, proud of ’em.”

Stefanovic split from his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn, in December 2016. The pair reached a divorce settlement in May 2017.

Commitment ceremonies are similar to weddings, but are not legally binding.
