Miranda Kerr has tied the knot with Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel in an intimate, backyard ceremony that saw the Australian model serenade her new husband with a post-ceremony karaoke performance.

Kerr, 34, and Spiegel, 26, married on Saturday afternoon, California time (Sunday morning AEST), at Spiegel’s home in the affluent suburb of Brentwood, Los Angeles.

Around 40 family and friends – the women dressed in floor-length gowns and the men in suits – were chauffeured to the wedding by private cars with tinted windows in order to evade photo-hungry media.

Kerr’s go-to makeup artist, Lisa Storey, was spotted arriving at the property to transform her longtime client into a blushing bride.

While there was no glimpse of Kerr or her dress, audio recorded by celebrity gossip site TMZ – which had reporters stationed outside Spiegel’s home – captured the model singing to her new husband.

The former Victoria’s Secret model delivered a karaoke rendition of Shania Twain’s, You’re Still the One.

Kerr’s performance was pitch-perfect – no surprise given her previous vocal endeavours, including a duet with Jersey Boys star Bobby Fox.

Guests included Kerr’s parents, brother and grandmother, who were flown in from Australia, as well as her six-year-old son, Flynn, whose father is Kerr’s ex-husband, Orlando Bloom.

Bloom himself did not attend, although Kerr has said she and Spiegel have a “close” relationship with the British actor.

Spiegel’s sisters reportedly made speeches, and the couple’s dog Teddy was also present.

The ceremony, which took place in a tent erected in the backyard of the multimillion dollar home, boasted rustic decor accented with white and pink roses.

A pianist and a string orchestra played as cocktails were served and high-profile US singers Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat each performed a set before a DJ took over to get guests onto the dance floor.

Sources speaking to People magazine described the 4pm ceremony and ensuing reception as “lavish and classy”.

Kerr and Spiegel met at a dinner in 2014, but were first spotted together in public in mid-2015. They got engaged in late July 2016, with Kerr sharing the news to her Instagram account.

In February, Kerr hinted she and Spiegel were remaining celibate until after marriage, telling The Times:  “My partner is very traditional. We can’t … I mean we’re just … waiting.”

Despite an eight-year age gap, the model has said Spiegel is mature beyond his years.

“He acts like he’s 50. He’s not out partying. He goes to work in Venice [Beach]. He comes home. We don’t go out,” she told The Edit.

This will be Kerr’s second marriage and the first for Spiegel, who previously dated US Bachelor contestant Lucinda Aragon.
