We all now that Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood’s good guys. The kind of good guy who will pose for pics at a fan’s wedding.

Or the kind of good guy who sends the White House press corps a coffee machine … along with a rousing message of solidarity and support.

With the reporting team in Washington facing unprecedented challenges, Hanks decided the team needed a boost.

It has come in form of caffeine and a personal, typewritten letter of encouragement.

“Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Especially for the Truth part,” he wrote.

It’s the third time Hanks has delighted the press corps with the gift of an espresso machine in 13 years.

He first sent them one in 2004 after visiting the White House with his family, and was apparently shocked to find working journalists in the without so much as a simple coffee pot.

He sent another in 2010 after having toured the White House grounds with Steven Spielberg and noticing that his original machine was looking a little worse for wear.

“You know you are supposed to clean this after every use,” Hanks joked at the time. “You are supposed to wipe that off. Look at the buildup there!”

Hanks then sent another machine that week, saying: “Let me see what I can do for the poor slobs of the fourth estate.”
