Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is single again after splitting with her husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac, midway through last year.

News of the split only recently came to light when Johansson, 32, was spotted at the women’s march in Washington on Saturday not wearing her engagement ring.

“They’ve been separated since the summer,” a source told People magazine of the couple, who were extremely private throughout the duration of their relationship.

Johansson and Dauriac have been married since 2014 and have one daughter together, two-year-old Rose Dorothy, born shortly before the couple tied the knot.

The couple spent their marriage living between their home bases of Paris and New York City and Johansson began learning French after meeting Dauriac.

“We’re both street rats,” Johansson told Cosmopolitan.

“Being a New Yorker is a part of your personality, and he grew up in the heart of Paris. Just surviving the urban jungle is character building.”

As well as being parents to Rose, Johansson and Dauriac share business interests: they co-own the gourmet popcorn shop Yummy Pop in Paris.

The pair was last spotted in public at the December 2016 launch party for the store, which is located in the trendy Marais district.

Johansson’s previous marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds also lasted two years, from 2008 to 2010.
