Queensland’s Bindi Irwin has paid tribute to her family’s unconditional love as she celebrates her 18th birthday at Australia Zoo.

The Dancing with the Stars winner, who last year took the US by storm, thanked her late father Steve, mother Terri and brother Robert for an “unforgettable journey” in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“Being 18 and embarking upon my adult years, I can’t predict what life will have in store for me,” Bindi said.

“All I know is that I will try my very best to make a difference in this world with each moment that I’m given.”

Bindi’s wakeboarder boyfriend of almost two years Chandler Powell also took to Instagram to wish happy birthday to the “most amazing person”.

“I’m very blessed to have you as such a huge part of my life and I’m beyond thankful you’ve let me be a part of yours,” he said.

At Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast the crocodile huntress took to her “pink carpet” event in Converse sneakers, jeans and a black Wildlife Warriors T-shirt she designed herself.

Bindi also took part in the zoo’s midday show to the delight of thousands of fans hoping to get a glimpse of the birthday girl.
