Reality star Sam Frost has accused Australian men’s magazine Maxim of “exploiting” her body on their latest cover.
During a segment on her 2DayFM radio show with Rove McManus on Monday, the former Bachelorette let loose on the magazine after they reused her image in their annual ‘Hot 100’ issue.
Frost, who posed for the magazine 12 months ago, said it “made her blood boil” to see her heavily Photoshopped image on the cover again.
“For starters, I said last week I regretted doing the photoshoot in the first place,” the 26-year-old told her co-host.
“I’m smack-bang right on the front cover implying that I’ve done a second photoshoot.”
“I feel like they’re exploiting my body even though they own the photos.
“The article says ‘she’s returned back to Maxim’ and I haven’t.”
Frost said she mainly took issue with the alterations made to the images, which she felt misrepresented her real appearance.
“They’ve photoshopped my hair dark – I was blonde and now I’m brunette,” Frost said.
“They’ve enhanced by boobs – I’m quite flat chested and I’m ok with that – brought in my waist.
“I don’t look like that. I’m a huge advocate for being a good role model for young girls and just embracing what you look like.
“I’m not too happy about it,” Frost concluded.
Maxim‘s editor in chief Santi Pintado told news.com.au he was “surprised” by Frost’s comments given her enthusiasm for doing the shoot in the first place.
“It’s no secret magazines retouch images. The only thing we’ve done is pretty much darken her hair from the shoot,” Pintado told news.com.au.
“In terms of enhancements, no. We haven’t really done anything to her at all. It’s basically the hair colour.”
“It’s an extremely positive story — nothing but love for her,” he added.
