Shapeshifter: the changing faces of Jennifer Lawrence

Is it just us, or is J-Law barely recognisable from one day to the next?

The 24-year-old actress has debuted a completely new look at Comic-Con this week, her long blonde locks and all-natural make-up making for a dramatic departure from the edgy cropped hairdo she’s been rocking for the last year.

A quick glance back over the past six years proves Lawrence is a true chameleon – which is perhaps the reason she’s already been nominated for countless awards and won an Oscar in her short career.

From playing a sassy 1970s trophy wife in American Hustle to dyeing her hair jet-black to play a depressed widow in Silver Linings Playbook, the young actress has lived several lives.

She often credits her appearance to the professionals in her life, describing herself as “a dancing monkey” to E! in 2014.

“I really would not call myself a fashion icon. I would call myself somebody who gets dressed by professionals. [It’s like], ‘Dance, monkey, dance’ right on the red carpet. I would call me more of a monkey,” she said.

Regardless, it’s J-Law alone who has the responsibility of making us believe her every role, and she does it with aplomb.

Here’s a look back at her transformation from baby-faced ingenue to blockbuster bombshell.
