What does Jessica Alba have in common with Lena Dunham?
They both star in Taylor Swift’s new music video.
The famous actresses join a massive cast of familiar faces in the pop star’s hotly anticipated clip for her hit song, ‘Bad Blood’.
Seemingly channelling dark action movie Sin City, Swift has assembled a comic book cast worthy of a Hollywood movie for the clip, which drops on May 17.
The 25-year-old is teasing a new cast member every day on Instagram up until the video’s release.
We’ve broken down the entire cast by their career background to give you a better understanding of what may be the most epic film clip of all time.
The TV stars
Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Ellen Pompeo from Grey’s Anatomy both appear in the clip.
Hargitary plays a knuckleduster-wearing character called Justice, while Pompeo plays a character named Luna.
Law & Order: SVU and Grey’s Anatomy are Swift’s two favourite shows and she named her cats Olivia Benson and Meredith Gray after Hargitay and Pompeo’s respective characters.
They join Girls writer and star Lena Dunham (one of Swift’s best friends) and Empire‘s Serayah.
Victoria’s Secret models Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt and Lily Aldridge all scored a starring role in the clip, either because of their obvious aesthetic benefits or their close personal friendships with Swift.
The movie stars
Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld and original Sin City star Jessica Alba both lend their acting skills to the clip as The Trinity and Domino, respectively.
Forget friendly competition – Swift has even managed to recruit some of her music industry peers for the clip. Disney star-turned-popstar Zendaya plays Cut-Throat, rapper Kendrick Lamar plays Welvin Da Great, British singer Ellie Goulding plays Destructa X and Paramore front woman Hayley Williams is The Crimson Curse.
The singer shared a photo of herself in costume with the caption “Catastrophe Vs. Knockout”.
Knockout is played by her best friend, model Karlie Kloss.
We predict a musical showdown of epic proportions.
