There has been plenty of scandal and furore surrounding the leaked emails stolen from the inboxes of Sony Pictures’ most senior executives.

First, there was the revelation the company’s co-chair Amy Pascal had made racist comments about US President Barack Obama.

Then we learned that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were paid less than their male co-stars for 2013’s American Hustle.

That was followed by a veritable tidal wave of other tidbits, ranging from news that Tom Cruise was in talks to play Steve Jobs in a movie, Angelina Jolie was a “minimally talented spoilt brat” and George Clooney was monumentally embarrassed by The Monuments Men movie.

Now, thanks to the helpful folks at Wikileaks, you can browse 170,000 of the emails by keyword search to your heart’s content.

The controversial whistleblower site has made all the correspondences available on their database, allowing for internet sleuths to uncover their own secrets.

To save you the trouble, we’ve scoured through the exchanges to find the most fascinating revelations about Hollywood stars – the ones you haven’t heard about yet.

1. Bradley Cooper is “such an odd bird”

The upcoming Cameron Crowe movie Aloha gets a lot of attention in the emails. This may have something to do with the star power of the three leads – Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams.

In one exchange, Crowe and Pascal discuss the actors in the film, with Crowe writing: “Our acting is better here all around … Frankly, we have great options on all the performances except Bill Murray… who pretty much is what you saw.”

Pascal agrees that the movie “belongs to Bradley”.

Interestingly, Crowe then alludes to Cooper’s eccentricities, saying: “Frankly Bradley is such an odd bird getting him right is tricky but he’s fine now so lets (sic) just let him cook where he is and take care of our girl [Stone]. And her nuances — Little moves on her are huge as [you] know.”

“Getting him right was the hard part,” Pascal agrees.

2. Emma Stone wants to play the mean girl for once

Stone is clearly well loved by the studio, with Pascal often referring to her in emails as “our girl”.

The former co-chair even approaches Stone about what her next project will be after the end of the Spiderman series.

“I want to play a crazy person or a bitch or something extreme really different and fun,” Stone responds – signalling a shift away from her typical role as the quirky, charming love interest.

3. David O’Russell allegedly abused Amy Adams and Christian Bale stood up for her

One of the most intriguing exchanges in the leak occurs between journalist Jonathan Alter and his brother-in-law, Sony CEO Michael Lynton.

In the emails, Alter inquires as to the company’s future plans with Silver Linings Playbook director David O’Russell.

“Are you guys doing anything else with him?” Alter asks.

“I know he’s brilliant but we have someone on our show who worked closely with him on ‘American Hustle’ and not only are the stories about him reforming himself total bulls**t but the new stories of his abuse and lunatic behavior are extreme even by Hollywood standards.”

Surprisingly, Alter compares O’Russell to George Clooney, saying many people in the industry don’t want to work with him.

“Apparently he behaved on ‘the Fighter’ but acted so crazy on ‘Hustle’ that it’s another Clooney situation where a lot of people won’t work with him again,” Alter writes.

“He grabbed one guy by the collar, cursed out people repeatedly in front of others and so abused Amy Adams that Christian Bale got in his face and told him to stop acting like an asshole.

“He treated the crew like s**t, demanded his own bathroom at all times and frightened people, as he famously had on ‘Three Kings’.”

4. Brad Pitt is not averse to throwing a tantrum

An email exchange between producers Michael Deluca and Doug Belgrad indicates Brad Pitt can be a little, well, temperamental.

Discussing 2014’s Fury, Belgrad says Pitt was not happy with some changes made to the movie.

“So Brad seems to have wigged out while watching the new cut and complained to Cynthia that he’s “gutted” by the changes and threatened not to do publicity,” Belgrad says.

“He’s also been texting with Ayer who told me that Brad has only watched through the dinner sequence. David is hopeful that it’s just a bad night or a reaction to trims or tweaks that he can easily restore.

“Cynthia is emailing Brad to try to find out more about what has triggered this and reassure him that no one will lock a cut that he doesn’t feel good about. There’s really nothing to do right now. Feels like we’ll be dealing with whatever remaining issues there are tomorrow.”

“So weird,” Deluca responds.

“So opposite the last time we spoke to him and literally agreed with all his notes.”

5. Tobey Maguire loves a free ride

Poor Great Gatsby star Tobey Maguire just wanted a lift.

In an email from September, executive Andrea Giannetti emails other senior executives to see if the actor can jump aboard a private jet.

“Tobey asking if he can join the plane ride from Toronto to Atlanta Tuesday am,” Giannetti writes.

“Is it ok for him to catch a ride or would you like me to politely get out of it?”

Awkward.

It all turns out okay for Tobey, however, who writes a month later to the same execs, thanking them “for the Playstation you sent”.

6. Matt Damon really is a nice guy and probably lots of fun to hang out with

You know how Matt Damon seems like he could be your best friend? Well, he probably is.

In one exchange, Damon invites Pascal to a charity event he is organising with Ben Affleck. From the emails, it is clear Damon is really invested in the cause and isn’t doing it for media attention.

Damon seeks support for “access to clean water and sanitation, removal of child soldiers from the bush and rehabilitation maternal health medical care”.

“So here’s the ask…It’s 5k for a ticket and 10k to play in the poker game,” he writes to Pascal.

“What we would LOVE is for you to sponsor a table for 100k. As you can imagine, that kind of money goes a very long way in some tough places.”

What’s more, the Damon/Affleck party sounds like a lot of fun.

“Even if you can’t swing that…we would love to see you at the event,” Damon writes.

“Even if you don’t play poker. No press. No pictures. No sh**ty charity event. Fun and gambling.”

7. Jennifer Lawrence is in high demand

As if we didn’t already know this, the young actress is hot property.

Many of the emails discuss various transportation dilemmas in getting Lawrence from award shows to film sets and back again.

One seeks approval for a USD$51,000 private jet trip so Lawrence can attend the 2014 SAG Awards.

Another exchange details arrangements for getting Lawrence out of stormy Atlanta for promotional commitments and then getting her back to The Hunger Games set to make a 6am call time.

“Urgently need to know the penalty for Jennifer Lawrence not being on set of Hunger Games tomorrow,” writes vice chairman Jeff Blake.

In the group email, Sony executive Andre Caraco responds that Lawrence will not travel in the bad weather.

“Just to be totally clear … leaving after 5.30pm for Jennifer is not an option and her security has advised her that it is not safe and she will not do it,” Caraco says.

“Bottom line: we are either buying her out or she leaves at 5pm.”

We sure don’t envy J-Law’s schedule.
