Justin Bieber ‘shoves’ Nova host Ryan Fitzgerald

In an unlikely match-up, beloved Nova FM radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and pop upstart Justin Bieber have been involved in a physical altercation at a music festival.

Speaking on Nova on Tuesday afternoon, 38-year-old Fitzgerald revealed he got into a scuffle with the Canadian singer at the Coachella music festival in California over the weekend.

The 6’6″ former football player was at the festival with Nova co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli when they were invited backstage to watch AC/DC perform.

“I’m on my phone, right, I’m walking with my head down and my backpack on. I’d had a few beers,” Fitzgerald said.

“I look up and it’s just a wall… of huge black guys. And down the front was this little dweeb.

“Justin Bieber is right in front of my face.”

He said the 21-year-old singer accosted the radio host.

“He put his hands out and pushed into my side and I’m like, ‘You’re kidding yourself mate, I’m twice the size of you’,” Fitzgerald said.

“I sort of leaned into him and these huge guys just grabbed me by the backpack and have just thrown me into the fence on the side.”

According to a TMZ report, Bieber was kicked out of several performances during the festival after arguing with security, and was reportedly placed into a chokehold.
