JLaw makes rare social media appearance

Following the celebrity hacking incident that saw Jennifer Lawrence’s personal photographs plastered over the internet in 2014, The Hunger Games star has been understandably silent online.

So it was a surprise to see her pop up on her official Facebook page on Friday to put rumours of a fight with director David O. Russell to bed.

The Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle director and his Oscar-winning muse were alleged to have had a screaming match on the set of the Russell-directed Lawrence vehicle Joy, currently being filmed in Boston.

Russell has a reputation for being a hot head, but as he has cast her in so many incredible films, Lawrence obviously felt she needed to set the record straight.

Lawrence famously denounced having any kind of social media presence in a 2014 interview after nude photos were stolen from her phone and leaked onto the internet.

“No, I’ll never get a Twitter,” she said.

“If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not.”

She does, however, have an official, verified Facebook page run by her team, and that is where she chose to make the public statement.

As the most famous actress in the world right now, she has been relatively quiet during the 2015 awards season – a change from the past three years when she ruled the red carpet.

The intensely private star has been snapped in the icy Boston weather wearing pyjama bottoms and also at the Annual Producers Guild Of America Awards in January, but she did not attend the Academy Awards on February 22.

She has also been spotted with rumoured boyfriend Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, but it is not clear whether the relationship has developed.
