New Zealand songstress Lorde has leapt to the defence of her close friend Taylor Swift after an American DJ criticised her body on Twitter.

Diplo, who is rumoured to be dating Katy Perry, hit out at Swift on Twitter for being too thin.

“Someone should make a kickstarter to get Taylor Swift a booty,” the 36-year-old DJ wrote.

Shortly after, he tweeted a link to a Kickstarter campaign created by his fans titled “Get Taylor Swift A Booty”.

Lorde was quick to defend her friend of more than a year, tweeting back a scathing insult about Diplo’s private parts.

“Should we do something about your tiny penis while we’re at it,” Lorde asked.

Diplo is yet to respond to the comment.
