Home and Away star shares stillbirth loss

Home and Away icon Ada Nicodemou has revealed the tragic stillbirth of her son Harrison on Thursday, seven months into the pregnancy.

The 37-year-old actress and her husband, Chris Xipolitas, released a statement on the Home and Away Facebook page announcing their loss, according to a Daily Mail Australia report.

“It is with great sadness that we need to share some news with you,” read the statement.

“Our baby boy Harrison was delivered stillborn on Thursday 7 August 2014.”

“We appreciate your love and support as we mourn the loss of our precious son.”

The family requested privacy in what they described as a ‘difficult and extremely painful time’.

Nicodemou has spoken openly about her struggle to conceive in the past, with the actress turning to IVF to conceive her first son, Johnas, who is almost two.

In June, she spoke about about her excitement at being pregnant again.

“I’m really excited for Johnas to have a little brother or sister and for us to be a complete family. It’s a really nice time and I feel really blessed to be pregnant again,” she said.

Celebrity friends of the couple rallied around them after hearing the news, calling them ‘beautiful people’.

Jodi Anasta, a former Home and Away castmate of Nicodemou’s, offered her support.

“It’s absolutely devastating,” said Anasta, who gave birth to her first child this year.

“I just love Ada and Chrys – they’re such beautiful people. Ada’s such a beautiful mum. We wish them all the best and give them our love and support.”
