Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger met his new lover two weeks before his partner L’Wren Scott committed suicide, according to reports.

A week after pictures emerged online of Jagger, 70, being kissed by US ballet star Melanie Hamrick, 27, the morning after a Rolling Stones gig in Zurich, it has been revealed that the singer may have met his new lover many months earlier.

When the photo was initially circulated, sources close to Jagger said he had met Hamrick at a nightclub and that their affair was a one-night stand.

But reports have revealed that the dancer and Jagger met while the Stones and the American Ballet Theatre were simultaneously touring in Japan, two weeks before Scott died on March 17 this year.

The Telegraph of London said that the Hamrick was among a group of dancers that were invited backstage at the band’s Japan gig on March 6.

A spokesman for Jagger confirmed to the Mail on Sunday that he did meet the dancer in March but “stressed that they had only swapped contact details in Tokyo and claimed their first liaison did not take place until Zurich.”

“The girl in Zurich was just a brief fling but she isn’t the first and won’t be the last. Mick is like an old dog who can’t be taught new tricks. Even before he started singing he was a womaniser and he still is. He knows no other way, ” the friend reportedly said.

The dancer is believed to live only blocks away from the apartment Jagger once shared with Scott.
