Did extreme dieting kill Peaches?

The cause of death of Peaches Geldof is yet to be determined, causing speculation about how the 25-year-old died.

British police are still investigating the television personality’s death after her body was discovered on Monday in her home. Police found no evidence of drugs, violence or a suicide note.

Friends of the mother-of-two insisted she wasn’t using drugs at the time of her death.

A forensic pathologist will carry out a post-mortem on Wednesday, but Kent County Council warns the results “could take some weeks.”

Media outlets are reporting that Geldof’s tiny frame and extreme dieting were to blame for her sudden passing.

Geldof had been open about her use of juice cleansing to lose weight fast, speaking about a drastic dieting cycle that experts say may have lead to heart failure.

“I do juicing. You juice vegetables and then you drink it three times a day. It’s gross. I do it usually for about a month.” Peaches told Ok! magazine in 2011.

She then confessed that when her diet was over, she would binge on chips and junk food.

In recent public appearances, Geldof had showed off a noticeably slimmer frame, but insisted that she was healthy on social media.

“To those telling me I look skinny and to eat something, I can assure you I’ve just cut out eating crap.” she tweeted in response to critics.

Rumours also abound that Peaches fell victim to the same fate as her mother, Paula Yates, who committed suicide at the age of 41.

However, in March Peaches shared that she was happier than ever in a parenting column for Britain’s Mother & Baby magazine.

The young socialite said that having children had brought her “bliss” and jolted her out of “wild past of wanton wanderlust.”

“Everything else was nothingness – I had the perfect life, two babies who loved me more than anything. It was and is bliss.”
