While you may be asking yourself “who cares?” Teens around the world will be simultaneously shocked, angered and ecstatic over the news that pop stars Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez appear to once again be a couple.

The pair, who broke up in November 2012, were spotted riding segways together in Los Angeles on January 2.

Adding fuel to the rumours that the two were more than just friends again, Bieber shared an Instagram photo on Saturday of a happy Gomez with her arms around his neck. The 19-year-old star captioned the photo “Love the way you look at me.”

The young stars may be seeking solace in one another after they both recently underwent some career turbulence. Gomez cancelled her Australian and Asian tour legs this year reportedly due to a flare up of lupus, an autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with two years ago.

More dramatically, Justin Bieber announced his retirement from the music industry via Twitter.

However, Bieber quickly quashed the news by tweeting photos of himself back in the studio while his management team vehemently denied the announcement, insisting it was all a joke.

Regardless of their career choices, there is no doubt that getting back together would arguably be a smart move for the pop phenoms. Singularly, their star power makes a powerful impact. Together, they could be unstoppable.
