Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have reportedly split after two years of dating.

Last week it was Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, this week fans can lament the loss of another one of the most beautiful couples to have ever come out of Hollywood.

While millions of Gosling’s diehard minions will be rubbing their hands together in glee, reports that the pair have parted ways is just another story of lost love in La-La Land.

Us Weekly reports that a source close to Gosling, 32, confirmed the break up, saying Mendes’ “jealousy” had torn the couple apart. Hardly surprising given the enormous amount of attention Gosling attracts on screen and online. (See Gosling reading out some of the Hey Girl memes created in his name below).

The source also told the website: “He can be moody, and she’s insecure. She sees a text from a mystery number and assumes he’s talking to other girls.”

Mendes, 39, and Gosling met while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011. The low key pair have been religiously quiet about their relationship, so it’s hard to know whether the rumours swirling are the real deal or just another manufactured.

Gosling has previously dated actors Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams, who I’m sure many Notebook fans will be desperately hoping he will reunite with.
