Meet your new Top Gear cast.

The popular car show has unveiled its new supersized line-up, drawing mixed reactions from viewers on social media.

Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris and Rory Reid will join previously announced hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc in the revamped version of the BBC show.

As a former Irish racing driver, Jordan has won several races over the course of his career and is also responsible for introducing the world to many legendary drivers, such as Michael Schumacher.

Schmitz should be no stranger to fans of the show, with the German racing driver having made several previous appearances.

The Queen of the Nurburgring is the first female host of the show since the departure of Vicki Butler-Henderson in 2001.

Motoring journalist Harris is probably better known as the presenter of YouTube channel Chris Harris on Cars — saying “if it all goes wrong, I can say I was once on Top Gear, and just head back to being that annoying small bloke off YouTube”.

Reid, recruited through public auditions last year, is also a journalist and has previously presented other car shows for CNET and Sky 1.

Top Gear, one of the BBC’s most successful and profitable shows, was taken off air last year after its star Jeremy Clarkson physically attacked a member of production staff.

Clarkson, along with his two co-presenters, are working on a new motoring show for Amazon.

However, reaction to the new cast — which Evans described as “a bit of something for everyone” — has been mixed.

Some suggested the big cast was a result of the show’s producers taking the idea of balance too far, while others said they would consider watching for the new cast — with some new members receiving a warmer reaction than others.
